The blood moon is sacred to many traditions and cultures and viewing brings visions...

My local green space here in Santa Fe sporting last year's October foliage...

Inspired by the huge towering rocks at Ghost Ranch, I added the petroglyphs and the roadrunner...

We love visiting Truth or Consequences and the funky style of the buildings there. This is the theater at late afternoon early January, 2025.

Last year visiting El Prado... a contented steer with a storm coming in, evening light.

The favorite trail of a friend and the beauty of the sunset light on the Sandia Mountains led to the inspiration for this painting.

Inspired by the golden cottonwood trees and the two Golden Retrievers down the street, this was a joy to paint!

A neighborhood hollyhock poking through the sidewalk crack...

Black Canyon in the Sangre de Cristo mountains inspired this forest bath!

Nocturnes are my current calling and a source of wonderful inspiration for me. There are certain night scenes I find
intriguing and that I will be exploring in the near future.

Inspired by a photograph from 1899 of the Gan Dancers, often called "Devil Dancers" because they dance to drive away the
evil spirits, I took considerable artistic license here to create this nocturne of "Mountain Spirit Dancers".

From my own dreamscape- Datura are in bloom and the full moon shines on. A cat looking out the window in a dream...

A September rainstorm and the Sun shines on the yard-full of puddles of a neighborhood house.

Every now and then, I come upon a scene that I know I must paint. I saw this scene just last week and inspiration struck! Really fun to paint!

Inspired by the "Las Golindrinas" main building here in Santa Fe, this painting depicts what life might have been like in the early settlement era in winter.

After the first snow, a morning walk through the green space...
A new series I am currently excited to be working on! “Conversations…”

The Camino Real trail in Santa Fe travels along the original trail used by the settlers. The first Europeans who traveled El Camino Real arrived in New Mexico with the Oñate expedition in 1598, twenty-two years before the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock. Being there always fills me with a sense of what they must have felt seeing the Sangre de Cristo mountains. I don't know how old this pergola is but I have always enjoyed seeing it.

The wonderful dancers at the Labor Day event at Santo Domingo Pueblo.

On the plaza before Indian Market, I spotted this scene and it was perfect to paint in pastel...
The Native American dances celebrate the bounty of the Earth and their relationship to it. Below is a painting of a Buffalo and Eagle Dance I witnessed years ago.

A trail rider in the golden light of sunset.

I saw this dance at Santo Domingo pueblo a few years ago at their annual Labor Day event...
Mid December we had a snow and while I was driving on one of my favorite roads here in Santa Fe, I wanted to capture this scene of snow and light.

The Pueblo of Nambe is situated in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. We visited there recently and this path struck me as so beckoning to those who walk the forest path...

A single rose growing out of the adobe block of a house I saw many years ago.

"Precious Metal" paints were used in the creation of this painting, which was inspired by a northern New Mexico stream. I love nocturnes and the feel of the night, which I have tried to convey in this painting.

I saw this side street with the dappled light while walking downtown. I love the feel of the shadow play on the brick buildings. I added the dog awaiting it's master for some playful interest.
